Notice on Recruitment and Renewal of Recruitment of Contractual Teachers for the Academic Year 2025/2026

The University of Carthage intends to open applications for the recruitment and renewal of recruitment of contractual teachers (non-experts) in its higher education and research institutions for the academic year 2025/2026, in the specializations listed in the attached table, and according to one of the following two categories:

  • Category 1: Contract for holders of the national doctoral degree.
  • Category 2: Contract for students enrolled in the national doctoral degree.

Conditions of participation:

A candidate applying for the position of contractual teacher must meet the following requirements:

  • Category 1:
    • Must hold Tunisian nationality.
    • Must hold a doctoral degree before the closing date of applications for the academic year 2025/2026.
    • Must not have previously held more than two (02) teaching contracts as a doctoral degree holder in Tunisian universities.
    • Candidates will not be accepted for a fourth contract year.
    • Applications may be accepted from doctoral degree holders who previously benefited from teaching contracts and who are currently preparing their thesis.
  • Category 2:
    • Must hold Tunisian nationality.
    • Must be registered for the doctoral degree at least in the second year and at most in the fourth year for the academic year 2025/2026.
    • Must not have previously held more than one (01) teaching contract in Tunisian universities.

Applicants for either of the above categories must register exclusively online through the University of Carthage website at the following link:

  • From August 21, 2025 to August 31, 2025 (until 11:59 PM).
  • All required information must be filled in accurately. Any false declaration will result in the rejection of the application.

For contractual teachers whose institutions have expressed their intention to renew their contracts (second contract for doctoral students / third contract for doctoral degree holders under the same conditions), they will be automatically accepted and notified. In all other cases, applications will be treated as new recruitments, ranked according to the score assigned by the system, and a shortlist of candidates will be established. Shortlisted candidates will be invited via email to attend an oral interview before a committee at the requested institution, after verification of the submitted documents against the information declared during the online registration.

Required documents:

  • Copy of the national identity card.
  • Copy of academic certificates obtained.
  • Copy of equivalency decision for foreign diplomas.
  • Copy of doctoral registration certificates (for non-doctorate holders).
  • Certificate of non-benefit from a scholarship or university loan (for doctoral students).
  • Two original signed copies of the commitment and declaration of honor forms (downloadable from the University’s website).
  • Any other document supporting the declared information during online registration.

Each applicant must upload these documents in digital format to their personal “Drive” space, gather them in a folder, then create an unrestricted sharing link to this folder and enter it in the dedicated field of the application system.

👉 Documents must not be sent by mail nor submitted to the University or institution office.

Important notice:

  • Candidates may not submit more than one application.
  • Any discrepancy between the submitted documents (in digital format) and the declared information during registration will result in automatic exclusion.
  • Candidates concerned with contract renewal and notified of their acceptance must report directly to their institution at the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026.
