As part of the renewal of the framework agreement governing the interuniversity cooperation for the joint award of a double Master’s degree in Urban Planning between the National School of Architecture and Urban Planning (ENAU) and the University of Sassari (UNISS), the University of Carthage had the pleasure of welcoming an Italian delegation from UNISS on 18 November 2025.
The delegation was led by Professor Silvia Serreli, and the meeting was held in the presence of Professor Nadia Mzoughi, President of the University of Carthage, Professor Afef Abdelkrim, Vice-President of the University of Carthage, Professor Hind Karoui, Director of ENAU, as well as faculty members from the Urban Planning Master’s program.
Discussions focused on the positive outcomes of the long-standing scientific and academic collaboration between the University of Carthage and the University of Sassari, the prospects for strengthening the shared academic and scientific network, and opportunities for expanding research cooperation and mobility between the two institutions.
Since 2018, the University of Carthage (ENAU – Department of Urban Planning) and the University of Sassari (Department of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning) have jointly implemented an international double degree program titled:
“Master in Urban Planning and Development: Urban, Environmental and Landscape Policies.”
Thanks to funding from Erasmus+ Key Action 107 – International Credit Mobility, more than 20 students have benefited from academic mobility, along with participating faculty members and administrative staff from both institutions.
Up to 2024, thirteen students have successfully obtained the double degree, contributing to the expansion of scientific and academic cooperation between Tunisia and Italy and opening new horizons for joint initiatives.
