Programme Overview

The “World in Serbia” project is a national initiative of the Government of the Republic of Serbia aimed at awarding scholarships to candidates from 127 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America, and South America that are members or observers of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The scholarship provides beneficiaries with the right to free education in the Republic of Serbia, according to their chosen field of study. It also includes accommodation and meals within the Serbian student welfare system, a monthly scholarship allowance, and health insurance.

As a prerequisite for studying in Serbia, scholarship recipients attend free intensive Serbian language courses upon their arrival in the Republic of Serbia, before enrolling in their chosen higher education programme.

Each year, the Ministry of Education announces the “World in Serbia” scholarship call. In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Serbian diplomatic and consular missions inform prospective applicants and collect applications.
